I've found the answer myself. What I was looking for was exactly called 'Stack Docklet'. There is a version for both ObjectDock and RocketDock.

Does anyone know how I can this tremedoues docklet to use Total Commander to open instead of explorer? I'd be really interested to know how you intend to use TC in this way?

I don't mean to be unkind, but I doubt the demand for such a feature would be very high. Or show the stack as normal (either in grid or linear) then when you click an icon.

What should happen? Don't get me wrong, TC is one of my favourite apps (as is OD+) but I can't see how the two could be integrated. I'm happy to be educated though.
